The OZEV EV Chargepoint Grant, Explained
Up to £350 off your installation if you qualify — and we handle the entire application for you.
What is the OZEV grant?
The OZEV EV chargepoint grant is a government funding scheme administered by the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles. It exists to reduce the up-front cost of installing a dedicated EV charger at eligible properties, and it contributes up to £350 toward the installation cost.
Who qualifies?
The rules have tightened over the years. In broad terms, the grant is currently available to:
- People living in flats and apartments with off-street parking
- Tenants renting a property, regardless of whether it is a house or a flat
- Certain landlords installing chargers at properties they let out
- Some commercial, workplace and MUD installations (under separate schemes)
Owner-occupied single houses are generally not eligible anymore, but there are exceptions. Rules change regularly — the quickest way to know where you stand is to give us a call and we will check your specific situation honestly.
How much is it?
The residential grant is currently worth up to £350 off the total cost of the charger and installation. Workplace and infrastructure grants operate under separate caps and are calculated per socket.
How to apply
Applications have to be submitted by an OZEV-authorised installer — not the homeowner — and the paperwork is fiddly. For our customers we handle the entire process:
- We confirm your eligibility on the first call
- We prepare and submit the application on your behalf
- The grant amount is deducted directly from your final invoice
- You never have to chase paperwork or upload documents yourself
If the application is unsuccessful you pay nothing for the grant work — only the installation itself, quoted transparently.
A quick warning
We see a lot of misinformation online about this grant, including on older installer websites that have not been updated since the rules changed in 2022. If something you have read sounds too good to be true, or if an installer is promising grant money you do not think applies to you, ask us — we will give you a straight answer.
Not sure if you qualify?
We will check your eligibility honestly on the first call — and manage the full application if you do.
